dc.description Esta obra emplea las teorías de información de los sistemas de comunicación digital para analizar las comunicaciones biológicas (nano-comunicaciones). Como tal, este trabajo considera la expresión genética desde dos paradigmas: los sistemas de transmisión digital como una perspectiva general y los sistemas de interredes como una perspectiva específica. Así, se propone un modelo estratificado de capas de interred que representa la expresión genética, en la cual, el aparato de Golgi actúa como un router entre redes biológicas para transmitir proteínas a un órgano objetivo. En segundo lugar, con el apoyo del modelo de interred mencionado previamente, se presenta un sistema de comunicación digital extremo a extremo, que representa la expresión genética con respecto a la producción de hormonas proteicas en el sistema endocrino utilizando el teorema de Shannon. Además, cada proceso molecular que codifica la información biológica, desde la transcripción y traducción del ácido desoxirribonucleico (ADN) hasta la señalización hormonal, está representado por un modelo estratificado de capas de red. Una de las aplicaciones más importantes del presente estudio es el uso potencial de las características de ambos sistemas de comunicación en el campo médico nano/bio-híbrido (es decir, para el tratamiento de enfermedades como el cáncer). Por lo tanto, el análisis presentado en este estudio puede prevenir los efectos secundarios al mejorar específicamente la transmisión de información a un destino adecuado (es decir, a órganos objetivo específicos), facilitando así el desarrollo de tratamientos óptimos y menos costosos.
dc.description.abstract Hoy en día las Comunicaciones Moleculares CM son un área de las ciencias comunicacionales y de networking. Las interacciones de las CM se comprenden, interpretan y definen mediante los elementos matemáticos, probabilísticos, y sistémicos de las teorías de la información y de las telecomunicaciones, y se aplican a escala nano. Las CM son la forma efectiva en la que las entidades biológicas se comunican entre sí, en una amalgama armónica que orquesta sendos sistemas de comunicación a escala molecular de manera intra y extracelular. Como en los sistemas de comunicación convencionales los sistemas biológicos cuentan con los componentes necesarios para cumplir el propósito de enviar información desde un origen a un destino mediante un canal de transmisión (el cual generalmente es un medio acuoso de difusión). Las CM esencialmente analizan la propagación de información biológica al nivel nano, donde las células como “dispositivos inteligentes” constituyen nuestros cuerpos y se comunican básicamente a través de transporte Browniano y enlaces moleculares. Aun cuando las comunicaciones biológicas se producen en entornos ruidosos, los sistemas naturales han establecido una forma precisa de procesar, transmitir y recibir información, posibilitando que las especies evolucionen y sobrevivan durante millones de años. Esta obra emplea las teorías de información de los sistemas de comunicación digital para analizar las comunicaciones biológicas (nano-comunicaciones). Como tal, este trabajo considera la expresión genética desde dos paradigmas: los sistemas de transmisión digital como una perspectiva general y los sistemas de interredes como una perspectiva específica. Así, se propone un modelo estratificado de capas de interred que representa la expresión genética, en la cual, el aparato de Golgi actúa como un router entre redes biológicas para transmitir proteínas a un órgano objetivo. Por lo tanto, el análisis presentado en esta investigación podría servir para controlar o reducir los efectos secundarios de los fármacos, al proponer un sistema de nano-comunicaciones con un direccionamiento especializado de información a una célula/tejido/órgano específico, facilitando así el desarrollo de mejores tratamientos farmacológicos.
